Still, and to its credit, the game plays wonderfully from the get-go in 4K, and you don’t have to mess around with your desktop native resolution – like in some other games – in order to make it work. Our only gripe with it is the somehow limited graphics settings that Sandlot has offered. Since this is a third-person shooter, and thanks to the game’s spot on keyboard and mouse control mechanics, Earth Defense Force 5 plays incredibly well on the PC. Not only that, but we did not experience any mouse acceleration or smoothing side-effects and the game displayed proper K&M on-screen indicators. NVIDIA’s most powerful gaming graphics card had no trouble at all running the game in 4K/Max settings with 60fps (the game is locked by default at 60fps). In order to capture the following 4K gameplay footage, we used an Intel i7 4930K (overclocked at 4.2Ghz) with 16GB of DDR3 RAM at 2133Mhz, NVIDIA’s RTX 2080Ti, Windows 10 64-bit and the latest versions of the GeForce drivers. Earth Defense Force 5 is an action game in which players battle against endless hordes of enemies, and its PC version appears to be running smoothly on a variety of PC systems. D3 Publisher has just released Earth Defense Force 5 on the PC so we’ve decided to take a brief look at it.
